Vocabulary

• Every day, review the vocabulary flashcards Anki says are due.
  • Anki ↠ [ RBH_Vocabulary ] ↠ [ Study Now ].
  • If Anki tells you to review words too frequently or too seldom, you can change this in the options for the deck.
• Top priority: Memorizing vocabulary is the main task of learning any language.
  • Most students should spend half of their study time on vocabulary.
  • The amount of time spent on vocabulary increases over time because there are more words to review.
  • Memorizing Hebrew vocabulary is far more work than Greek vocabulary, because there are many more words, more words that sound the same, and fewer English cognates.
• Swapped words: When you confuse one word with a different word, open the vocabulary list and search for the English word that you thought it was. Then study the difference in spelling between the two words so that you remember which is which.
• Annoying words: For words that you have particular difficulty memorizing, make paper flashcards and practice going from English to Hebrew.

Grammar

• Every day, review the grammar flashcards Anki says are due.
  • If Anki tells you to review words too frequently or too seldom, you can change this in the options for the deck.
  • When you want to eliminate a card, click the [ More ] button in the lower-right corner and click one [ Suspend Card ].

Paradigms

• Stage 1: Every day, use the worksheets to write out any recent paradigm repeatedly until you write it completely correct once. Then do the same thing with the online practice quiz.
• Stage 2: When you are able to consistently write a paradigm completely correctly on the first try, then switch to writing the paradigm every other day.
• Stange 3: When that is successful, switch to twice a week, then once a week, then every other week, then once a month, then every other month, etc.
• Memory principle: The idea is that by asking your brain to remember at an increasing interval, you are building the material into long-term memory instead of short-term memory.

Inflecting, Parsing, & Translation

• Whenever you want to practice certain types of things, do a custom study session with the Anki workbook flashcards.
  • Use tags to choose which chapters and which types of questions to practice.
