Recommended Head-Start before the semester begins
- Follow the instructions in the [ Setup ] section of the course website (if you haven't already).
- Listen to this 15-second Hebrew alphabet song (YouTube or Download or mp3 audio) until you can sing it from memory.
- Watch the first lecture (Hebrew consonants) and do the tasks it lists at the end of the video.
- Watch the second lecture (Hebrew vowels) and do the tasks it lists at the end of the video.
- Watch the third lecture (Hebrew symbols and pronunciation) and do the tasks it lists at the end of the video.
- As time permits, begin memorizing the vocabulary, chapter-by-chapter, following my recommendations for learning new vocabulary.
- Work on vocabulary (instead of watching more lectures) because vocabulary memorization can be done without a teacher, and because learning vocabulary is most time-consuming task.
- If you want, practice reading and singing along with some of the songs in our Hebrew worship songs playlist. This will improve your ability to pronounce what you read.
